Today, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev spoke at the meeting of leaders of the mining industry of Kazakhstan "Dialogue and plans for the future".
During the meeting, key issues of sustainable development of the mining industry, prospects for international cooperation and the possibility of attracting foreign investment in the mining sector of Kazakhstan were discussed.
The event was attended by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States, the EU, Great Britain, France, as well as high-ranking representatives of the diplomatic missions of Canada and Turkey, more than 30 leading member companies of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines.
The minister noted that the country's geological aspirations amount to a billion dollars over the past 5 years. Also, in his opinion, the Ministry has invested about $ 200 million in this industry, and this figure is not falling, but continues to grow.
"We will create one of the most attractive mining sectors, not in Central Asia, but probably globally competitive," Kanat Sharlapayev stressed.
As the President of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Mines Ruslan Baymishev noted, new world leaders in geological exploration are coming to the country. The multiplier effect is felt in the services. New domestic specialized enterprises are being created to carry out the increasing volume of geological exploration. The market of drilling, geophysics, and geochemistry services is being filled with new competencies.
In addition, an open session on the topic "Prospects for the development of the mining industry" was held to discuss current issues and proposals from members of the Chamber.
Almas Kushumov, Director of the Department of Subsoil Use, answering the questions of the meeting participants, spoke about the work of the Ministry on digitalization of the field of exploration and subsoil use, amendments to legislation and conducting electronic auctions. He also shared plans for the introduction of a Unified Subsoil Use Platform.
The event was organized in order to discuss problems and plans for the future in order to minimize the risks of investors, image work on the objective face of a modern socially responsible investor. The Chamber is also working on initiatives in industrial policy, initiatives to amend the Subsoil Code.
