A capsule laying ceremony for the construction of a new nine-storey dormitory for students of Satpaev University was held in Almaty.
The new dormitory consists of 319 living rooms and is designed for 955 beds. The total area of the 9-storey building is more than 11 thousand square meters, the plot area is about 1 hectare, parking spaces for 15 cars are provided. This dormitory is planned to be put into operation for students in 2026.
According to the Department of Youth Policy of the city of Almaty, in 2024 it is planned to put into operation 16 facilities with 4,500 beds, of which 6 facilities with 1,600 beds were commissioned before the start of the school year. For comparison, 4,000 new beds were created in Almaty in 2023.
To effectively coordinate the work on the construction of dormitories, the Project Office for the Construction of Student dormitories continues its work. The main task of the project office is to create favorable conditions for the implementation of the state program for the construction of dormitories and providing students with housing in the city of Almaty.
