During a working trip to China, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov met with President of COFCO Bai Yun. The negotiations were attended by Vice President of the company Xu Guanghan, representatives of the company's departments and the Kazakh delegation.
Prospects for cooperation in key areas were discussed at the meeting.
"There is great potential in the supply of Kazakh crop products to the Chinese market. The export of Kazakhstani grain to China is of great interest to us. COFCO is one of the key and strategic trading partners for Kazakhstan in the field of grain supplies. We are ready to strengthen cooperation and increase the volume of supplies," the minister said.
The management of COFCO, one of the world's largest players in the agricultural industry, expressed interest in supplying, in addition to grain products, Kazakh livestock products, oilseeds, as well as sunflower and linseed oil.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to discuss the signing of three-year contracts that will ensure stable and mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the agro-industrial sector.
COFCO is China's largest state-owned corporation engaged in processing, exporting agricultural products, including cereals and oilseeds, and logistics. The company is actively expanding imports of high-quality products, including from Kazakhstan, to meet the growing demand in the Chinese market.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to implement strategic tasks to promote domestic products to international markets, strengthening the country's export potential.
