Within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Astana, a meeting of the Ministers of Health of Kazakhstan and Russia took place. The main topic of discussion was the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare, aimed at improving the quality of medical care and strengthening the health of the population of the two countries.
During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues of joint work, including the exchange of experience in the application of innovative technologies in the treatment of a number of diseases, the modernization of primary health care, the introduction of modern digital technologies in medicine, and the development of partnerships in the field of medical personnel training.
The head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko got acquainted with the work of the leading republican clinics of the country. He visited the departments of the UMC Heart Center, where up to 10,000 heart surgeries are performed per year, including 2,000 open heart surgeries and over 700 children.
During the visit, the Russian delegation was interested in the new building of the National Cancer Research Center, which houses Centers for Nuclear Medicine, radiation and Proton therapy, equipped with advanced high-tech equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. The new clinic is a unique medical cluster created on the principle of a single integrated multidisciplinary system that has no analogues in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries.
Further, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation got acquainted with the activities of medical aviation, a new multidisciplinary hospital and high-tech medical equipment within the walls of the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine. He also noted the quality of medical care and progressive methods of treatment of complex pathologies when visiting the National Center of Neurosurgery.
"We are ready to join forces to improve the health of every citizen. Our partnership opens up new opportunities for the introduction of advanced solutions in the field of healthcare and the creation of a sustainable medical care system,” said Akmaral Alnazarova, Head of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the Ministers of the two states expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation, noting the high level of trust and common interest in improving the quality of medical services.
At the end of the visit, an Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare was signed, which includes relevant areas and forms of interaction for the long term.
