Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev visited the Ulytau region. As part of his working trip, he held a meeting with the public and organized a reception for citizens on personal issues. The meeting was attended by public activists and representatives of non-governmental organizations. The participants of the meeting raised issues related to the ecology of the region.
After the meeting, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and the akim of the Ulytau region visited the Zhezkazgan copper smelter, where they got acquainted with the modernization project of the sulfuric acid workshop. This project is aimed at reducing the amount of acid emissions that harm the environment.
Then the minister visited the Botanical Garden in the regional center. During the visit, issues of rational use of land with an area of about 70 hectares and prospects for the implementation of the greening project of the city were discussed.
At the end of the working trip, Yerlan Nysanbayev and Akim of the region Dastan Ryspekov held a meeting with representatives of institutions and organizations working in the environmental field. The head of the region noted that the republican action "Taza Kazakhstan", initiated by the Head of State, continues in the region. Next year, priority will be given to landscaping and landscaping projects.
The Minister, in turn, stressed the need to regulate the operation of landfills, combat emissions of harmful waste at production facilities, increase the number of containers and equipment, as well as create a green belt around Zhezkazgan.
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of the Ulytau region have developed and approved a roadmap for normalizing the environmental situation in the region.
