In the Turkestan region, work is underway to open a branch of one of the leading educational institutions in South Korea — Woosong University. The Kazakh-Korean educational center will be located in the administrative and business center of Turkestan. Today, Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy visited the construction sites of the regional center and checked the progress of the work. He inspected the construction of the 18-storey building, gave specific instructions to the responsible persons and demanded that the work be completed on time. The opening of the University of Information Technology is scheduled for September next year.
The project is being implemented on the basis of a joint venture agreement between JSC SEC Turkestan and a partner of BOLD Construction Group LLP. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev earlier instructed to actively open branches of the world's leading universities to improve the quality of education. This will provide an opportunity to train highly qualified specialists and master advanced technologies.
Woosong University, located in Daejeon (South Korea), belongs to the famous WOOSONG Educational Foundation. Over the 70 years of its existence, the university has trained more than 12,000 students, and 780 teachers are constantly improving their skills. Woosong actively develops its educational base and cooperates with 430 educational institutions in 67 countries around the world.
The University is also known for its innovative laboratories for the study of artificial intelligence, which models human thought processes using computer systems. The increased demand for cybersecurity specialists is another area of training. Graduates of the university receive management and production skills. The branch in Turkestan plans to focus on information systems in agriculture, which meets the needs of the region.
