Akim of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy visited construction sites in the city of Turkestan. As part of his working trip, he got acquainted with the progress of work at the spiritual and cultural center "Kyluet". To date, interior finishing works are being carried out in the spiritual center. The head of the region stressed the importance of this facility, which is being built at the expense of the population, and instructed those responsible to strengthen construction work and ensure quality control.
The work of the first stage has been completely completed. The work of the second stage is currently underway. The total area of the mosque is 3.54 hectares. There will be an exhibition center, a place for worship for 500 people, classrooms, a library and a dormitory. In addition, it is planned to build a modern educational institution – a madrasah, a hafiz training center on the territory of the mosque.
Every citizen of Kazakhstan can contribute to the construction.
The mosque has a rich history. In Turkestan, in the middle of the XIX century (1864-1865), the Kyluet mosque was built. The mosque building was demolished in 1960, and a new mosque with a single dome was erected in its place. However, due to the increase in the number of parishioners, the mosque was completely demolished and rebuilt in 1980. In 2020, the mosque building was declared an emergency and demolished.
