The sports cluster of the Zhetisu region has been replenished with another modern facility – the first Table tennis Center in the region, built at the expense of a private investor, was opened in Taldykorgan. Speaking with a welcoming speech, Beibit Isabayev briefly dwelled on the ongoing events for the development of sports in the region and expressed confidence that the new facility put into operation will make a significant contribution to the sports education of young people:

As the head of the region stressed, the facility, which is important for the development of mass sports, meets international requirements and standards. It has the opportunity to hold competitions of any level. All conditions have been created for athletes with special needs.
Vice-President of the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elsiyar Kanagatov, who arrived at the opening of the sports facility, addressed his congratulations to the audience.
- The center, which opens today in Taldykorgan, is the 11th table tennis center in the country. In general, more than 245 thousand people are engaged in this sport in Kazakhstan. After commissioning such a modern facility, it is important to open a table tennis club here and, by attracting strong coaches, contribute to the education of young talented athletes. Once again, I congratulate the residents of the region on the opening of a modern Table tennis Center! Let's develop this sport together and raise future champions," Kanagatov said.
By the way, 613 students are currently studying at the regional specialized youth school for board games and sports tourism, 131 of them are engaged in table tennis. There are 24 coaches working. This Youth Sports school will now be located on the basis of the Table Tennis Center opened today.
The ceremony of cutting the symbolic ribbon marked the beginning of the work of the sports facility, and everyone could get acquainted with its internal arrangement.
The two-storey building with a total area of 2,193 square meters has a table tennis hall, which houses 12 tables with the possibility of increasing their number and a grandstand for 250 seats. There is also a hall for board games, including chess and togyzkumalak. In addition, the center has a gym, massage room, adapted showers and bathrooms and other necessary administrative and household facilities. The total cost is 1.3 billion tenge of investment funds.
- Previously, the existing regional school for board games and sports tourism, located in Taldykorgan, was located in a rented building. Now we will have our own Table Tennis Center. Thanks to this, at a convenient time, in comfortable conditions, our athletes and amateurs will be able to practice table tennis, play chess or togyzkumalak, not worry about equipment and organization of competitions. The center has a modern material and technical base that meets international requirements. All this together contributes to the development of mass sports and the improvement of sports achievements," said Nurlan Dyusenbinov, Senior table tennis coach of the Zhetisu region.
Young athletes also shared their impressions.
- I practice table tennis by attending a section in the Koksu district. I've been doing this sport for a year, I really like it, I want to continue to practice professionally. Therefore, I am glad to open this Table Tennis Center in Taldykorgan, especially not far from our district," said Zangar Algabek.
But Eva Ryzhova from Taldykorgan has been playing table tennis for 3 years and also intends to achieve high achievements in this sport.
- My dad signed me up for the table tennis section at my request. It took a lot of patience and perseverance to master the game of table tennis. For about a year I had to study hard, I started literally from the very basics, and then I began to win competitions. I think this new Table Tennis Center will help many talented children express themselves and develop their abilities, and I am very glad to open it," she said.
In total, 11,592 residents, including young people, are engaged in table tennis in 233 sections of the Zhetisu region on a regular basis. Special sections have been established in Alakol, Aksu, Eskeldinsky, Karatal, Kerbulak, Panfilov, Sarkan districts and Taldykorgan. There are 146 coaches working in these sections. Also, 583 children are engaged in 17 table tennis sections on the basis of the state sports creative order.
In general, 3.7 billion tenge has been allocated from the local budget for the construction of 9 sports facilities this year. Of these, 6 were completed this year. In particular, sports and recreation complexes were introduced in the villages of Almaly in the Sarkan district, Lepsy in the Alakol district, the city of Tekeli, a sports complex was built in the village of Usharal in the Panfilov district, and a volleyball center for the Zhetisu professional volleyball club, which has no analogues in Kazakhstan, as well as a four-storey residential building for athletes, was opened in the city of Taldykorgan. built at the expense of the investor.
The provision of the population with sports infrastructure per 1000 people is 64.0%, the share of the population systematically engaged in physical culture and sports is 42% of the total population of the region.
According to the results of 10 months, athletes of the Zhetisu region won 1,344 medals at competitions.
