Zhambyl region
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov got acquainted with the implementation of several major projects in Zhambyl region. A pumping station is being built in the village of Kainar, which should provide water to 3,800 hectares of cultivated areas of the Kordai district. At the Tasotkel reservoir, the minister got acquainted with the results of the reconstruction of the facility. As of today, excavation and concrete work, well cleaning, canal repair, installation of warning systems and video surveillance have been fully completed.

Turkestan region
Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with residents of the Moyinkum district of Zhambyl region and residents of the Sozak district of Turkestan region and discussed with them the issues of water distribution of the Shu River. Representatives of the Shu-Talas basin Inspection reported that the discharge of water from the Tasotkel reservoir has begun. It is expected that this water in the required volume will reach the Sozak district in February.

Saudi Arabia
At the One Water Summit, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation signed a memorandum of cooperation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The memorandum provides for the exchange of experience and best practices in water resources management, flood and drought risk management, irrigation efficiency improvement, as well as digitalization of accounting and monitoring of water resources.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Bureau of Geological and Mining Research of France (BRGM) signed a trilateral cooperation agreement. The agreement provides for the allocation of a grant in the amount of 1.35 million euros for the development of water resources management of Lake Balkhash.

Kazakhstan will join the global Freshwater Challenge program aimed at preserving ecosystems. As part of this program, it is planned to restore the Aksuat lake system in the Naurzum Nature Reserve. Our country also intends to ratify the UN Protocol on Water and Health.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan Niko Schermers shared his opinion on the work of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in terms of flood relief. Separately, the Ambassador focused on the interaction between the two countries in flood forecasting and flood prevention.
Earlier, experts from the Netherlands held seminars on flood risk management in Astana within the framework of a memorandum between the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Delft Institute of Water Education (IHE Delft).

The branch of Kazvodkhoz in the West Kazakhstan region transferred the Chagan reservoir and the reservoirs "Sholakankata", "Sulusai" and "Embulatovka" to the winter mode of operation. For the safe passage of the flood and the release of free tanks, water was discharged from these reservoirs.

East Kazakhstan Region
The branch of Kazvodkhoz in the East Kazakhstan region has completed current repairs at 3 reservoirs and 11 waterworks. To improve the safety and reliability of facilities during the flood period, equipment was upgraded and structures were strengthened.

Karaganda region
More than 17 thousand hectares of acreage were provided by the branch of Kazvodkhoz "K. Satpayev Canal" in Karaganda and Pavlodar regions. This is 1,900 hectares more than last year.
important: This year, the branch signed contracts for the supply of irrigation water with 37 farms. Today, most farms use modern moisture-saving sprinkler systems.
