Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Miras Tulebayev held a reporting meeting with residents of Kostanay region in Rudny. The meeting discussed the fight against illegal gambling, the prevention of gambling addiction, as well as the development of sports and tourism in the region.

Miras Tulebayev noted at the meeting that gambling addiction is a complex social problem that requires a systematic approach and measures. As part of the comprehensive plan for 2024-2026, the state is stepping up the fight against illegal gambling, introducing measures to restrict advertising, tighten control over operators, and prohibit participation in games for certain categories of citizens.

“Since the beginning of the year, more than 170 thousand people have restricted themselves from gambling through the eGov application. These measures will help reduce addiction and protect the most vulnerable groups,” the Deputy Minister noted.

He also informed the people of the region that a law had recently been signed to strengthen the regulation of the gambling business. In particular, the law prohibits civil servants and military personnel, as well as persons included in the register of debtors, from participating in gambling, and introduces liability for organizing online casinos. The state continues to work to improve public awareness of the dangers of gambling and introduces educational programs and support systems for those facing gambling addiction.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister also touched upon achievements in the tourism sector. According to him, active work is underway in the region to improve tourism infrastructure, attract investors, and develop domestic tourism. This year, the number of domestic tourists visiting the region has increased by 25%.

"We are trying to make travel across Kazakhstan more comfortable and affordable by building modern tourist facilities and improving transport infrastructure," said Miras Tolebayev.

The sports sector was also discussed at the meeting with the people of the region. Today, 32 children's and youth sports schools operate in the Kostanay region. More than 18 thousand children train there. This year, the construction of two physical education and health complexes will be completed in the region, and in 2025, a specialized sports school is planned to be opened in Rudny. These initiatives are aimed at attracting young people to sports and training high-level athletes.

At the end of the meeting, the residents of the region asked the Deputy Minister questions that concerned them and made suggestions. At the end of the event, Miras Tulebayev thanked the residents of the region for their active participation in the meeting.

"Only through joint efforts can we solve complex social problems and strengthen the region's position in the field of tourism and sports," said the Deputy Minister.
