Over the past 11 months, 55 licenses for geological exploration of the subsoil were issued, of which 16 were for geological surveying, 5 for geophysical work, and 34 for groundwater.

It should be noted that the state geological survey of the subsoil will be carried out taking into account the measures provided for in the plans of the Ministry of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2027 for the development of the Abai district, Balkhash, and the rare and rare earth metals industry.

The regional geological exploration will increase the explored area to 2.2 million sq. km. by 2026. In particular, the total explored area in 2024 will be 104 thousand sq. km.

At the same time, prospecting work to identify the prospects for the discovery of rare earth metals has been completed at 11 sites.

As a result of these works, the prospects of the Kuirektikol site in the Karaganda region were noted. The preliminary reserve of the site is about 800 thousand tons of raw materials required for industrial development. The estimated resources are 935 thousand tons of rare earth metals, including cerium and lanthanides.

Work was carried out at the Akbulak site in the Kostanay region, and 2 gold and 1 gold and copper sites were identified.

In order to ensure access to the results of the State Geological Survey of the Subsoil by potential subsoil users, the results are published in the public domain on the electronic website e.geology.kz.

It is necessary to separately mention the monitoring of groundwater. In 2024, 765 million tenge was allocated for monitoring. The goal is to obtain quantitative and qualitative indicators of the state of groundwater and hazardous geological processes at 4004 monitoring points.
