The musical drama, based on the work of Dulat Isabekov, broke the theatrical record of Kazakhstan.
In a year and ten months, the play was staged 250 times, and the total number of viewers exceeded 100,000.
The performance was shown not only in the capital, but also in such cities as Almaty, Aktau, Atyrau, Uralsk, Taldykorgan, Taraz, Shymkent, Turkestan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey and Zhanaozen.
In addition, "almaz" was staged as part of the Days of Culture of Astana at the Moscow State Theater "School of Dramatic Art".
The author of the musical drama is the Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, the laureate of the State Prize, the writer-playwright Dulat Isabekov.
The play received the title of "Best Performance" of the national award "UMAI-2023" in the nomination "Theatrical art". Inabat Rizabekova, who played Saltanat, was recognized as the "best Actress of the Year" at the Critics' Award 2023. The play also became the "best play of 2024" at the "Qazaqstan Ticketon Awards – 2024" competition by popular vote among state theaters. The Kudasha dance and folk song in the performance have become a real trend on social media and have garnered millions of views. Dance videos have spread along with Kazakhstan in China, Turkey and Russia.
Dulat Isabekov's novel "Almaz", written in 1967, touches on topics that have not lost their relevance today. The work deeply reveals the problem of the meaning of family values and respect for a woman.
