Preparations for flooding are in full swing in Akmola region. Within the framework of the action plan, special attention is paid to the state of hydraulic structures, construction of new facilities and reconstruction of existing reservoirs.
The implementation of projects was discussed in the regional akimat. The meeting was chaired by akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov and invited contractors in the region.
According to the head of the Department of Natural Resources and environmental management Janet Mikishev, currently work is underway in the region to strengthen the banks and deepen the riverbed on the Zhabai, Shagalaly and Kalkutan rivers. In addition, the construction of protective dams is underway in the village of Silk Road, which will prevent flooding and ensure the safety of local residents. In addition, work is underway to reconstruct water supply facilities in Damsa village of Shortandy district and Chapaevskaya dam of Zhaksyn district. This aims to increase their throughput and reduce the risk of flooding. All measures are carried out at the expense of the corporate fund "Demeu Kazakhstan fund".
Marat Akhmetzhanov noted the importance of timely and high-quality implementation of the planned activities. He instructed the relevant services to strengthen control over the progress of work and establish close interaction with local authorities. The mayor noted that the integrated implementation of flood preparedness will help reduce risks, protect the population and preserve infrastructure facilities.
"Control over the quality and timing of work should be carried out comprehensively, both on the part of society and on the part of state bodies. These initiatives are strategically important in improving the safety of the population, preventing emergencies and ensuring environmental stability," the governor of the region said.
As a result of the meeting, specific instructions were given to organize work and attract additional resources to implement the established tasks.
