In 2023, during a working trip to the West Kazakhstan region, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to build a modern multifunctional sports complex in the city of Uralsk. As a result, the necessary work was carried out and a sports facility was built. Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Turegaliyev noted that this sports complex will contribute to the development of mass sports in the region as part of the instructions of the Head of State. "The President noted that in order to strengthen the health of the nation, it is necessary to develop mass sports and create maximum conditions for the free exercise of the population. The newly opened modern sports complex will become an indispensable place for sports activities for residents of the region, especially young people," the governor of the region said. "The new sports and recreation complex in Uralsk will become not only a training center for future champions, but also a place where residents can play sports in a comfortable environment. KazMunayGas, as a socially responsible company, actively implements significant projects, including the construction of schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, and sports and cultural facilities in the regions of its presence. This work will continue to improve the quality of life of citizens," said Askhat Khasenov, Head of Kazmunaygas. The Zhaiyk Arena complex has all the conditions for both mass sports and professional training of athletes. The complex includes halls for volleyball, basketball, boxing, wrestling, judo, archery, a swimming pool and others. The youth of the region expressed gratitude to the President for his contribution to the development of the region's sports infrastructure. "We are very happy. A modern sports complex has been opened. From now on, we will only train here. A spacious and comfortable sports complex. We express our sincere gratitude to our President for the support of youth," said Abzal Maratov, a young athlete. The project was financed by JSC NC KazMunayGas, construction work was carried out by BI Group. This project is another step towards strengthening the sports potential of the West Kazakhstan region and improving the quality of life of the population.
