Metropolitan utilities continue to work around the clock on snow removal. Since the beginning of the winter period, they have been operating in an uninterrupted, enhanced mode, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
Since the morning of December 31, more than 2.6 thousand road workers and 1,346 units of special equipment have started snow removal work.
Over the past night, from December 30 to December 31, 1,829 heavy-duty flights took out over 24 thousand cubic meters of snow.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the winter season, 2,042,267 cubic meters of snow have been transported to landfills by more than 157 thousand flights.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Areas with moderate intensity are also being cleared of snow — squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning on central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and refrain from long-distance travel in case of a storm warning.
