A charity event on New Year's Eve was held for children from the organization SOS Children's Village Astana. This institution has replaced a home for children left without parental care and who find themselves in a difficult life situation, the official website of the Akimat of the capital reports.
The action was organized by representatives of the akimat of the capital's Nur district and local entrepreneurs, who decided to abandon the New Year's corporate event. Instead of celebrating, they used the funds to purchase holiday gifts and treats for the children.
Each child was given bags of fruits and sweets, gifts, as well as dishes prepared by one of the capital's restaurants. An important point was that a special festive menu was developed for children to create a festive atmosphere for them on New Year's Eve.
"The patrons of our district continue to actively support those who seek help. Their contribution, whether it's food or financial support for treatment, is of great importance to residents and society as a whole. As the deputy akim of the district for social affairs, a media contributor, and a member of the commission on Juvenile Affairs and protection of their rights, as well as the commission on Women's Affairs and Family and demographic policy, I see that people turn to us not only for solving everyday problems, but also for help in organizing charity events. This trust is a great responsibility, and together with our colleagues, we try to respond to every request. A special joy for us was the holiday for the pupils of SOS Children's Village Astana, which was organized thanks to caring patrons. Instead of their own celebration, they gave the children joy and warmth. I would like to sincerely thank these people. It is important to remember that help is needed not only on holidays. In winter, coal, clothing, groceries, and other basic items are especially in demand. I urge everyone who has the opportunity to support those who need care right now. Every good initiative changes lives for the better!" said Aliya Absemetova, Deputy Akim of Nur district.
The akimat of the district emphasized that the charity event was a vivid example of social responsibility and charity.
