The Youth Resource Center of Karaganda organized a training seminar "EcoMolodezh: The future is in our hands" for volunteers from youth organizations, universities and colleges. It was held within the framework of the "Taza Kazakhstan" program.
Damir Karimov, Karaganda ecotrener, traveler and coach for a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle, told how to organize an environmental event from A to Z.
He started with the basics. The ecotrener spoke in detail about the interaction with various organizations – the media, akimat, environmental NGOs, etc. The ways of eco-friendly holding of various events were considered: promotions, social contests, marathons, workshops, lectures, etc. Damir has extensive experience in organizing clean-up days, tree planting, eco-networking, and excursions.
– Based on my personal experience, I also raised one serious problem – the non-ecological nature of environmental measures. When disposable tableware, balloons, banners are used. And the harm from this event is created more than the benefit. I also shared not only the chips, but also the mistakes. So that the organizers of environmental events can avoid unpleasant moments in the future," says Damir Karimov.
The seminar participants also discussed topical issues that will help improve the environmental literacy of young people.
Since the beginning of the Taza Kazakhstan program, the Karaganda Youth Resource Center has organized more than 100 environmental events. Since June 2024, six large-scale actions, trainings, etc. have been held in the region.
