In addition, in order to increase the availability of purchase and operation of ground spray equipment and UAVs (drones), agricultural producers and providers of chemical processing services will be reimbursed 25% of the cost of purchased equipment. For this purpose, appropriate changes were made to the rules of investment subsidies of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of national economy Serik Zhumangarin, the government discussed information on preparations for the fight against locusts and preparations for spring field work.
According to Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, in 2024, 247 units of equipment were used for chemical processing, and in 2025 this number will increase to 443 units. Of these, there are 46 agrodrons, which were purchased by the Ministry of Agriculture to the regional offices of RSE "phytosanitary". 7 studies were also taken from the UAV.
"In Turkestan region in the spring of last year, based on the results of the project of pilot testing of centralized activities, including field spraying through agrodrons and the purchase, transportation, storage and processing of pesticides, the Ministry of Agriculture introduced the organization of phytosanitary measures in all regions on the principle of" one supplier – all works". This makes the business more attractive to participate in the purchase of these services and more responsible for the results. In addition, we have created favorable conditions for farmers and suppliers of chemical processing services by reimbursing 25% of the cost of agrodrons, ground ventilators and Rod sprayers," Yermek Kenzhekhanovich said.
The meeting also considered the readiness of the regions for spring field work. Of the 100 billion tenge allocated as part of early financing, which began on November 29, 2024, 70 billion tenge was directed to 671 agricultural producers. The most actively used of these funds are the regions with grain crops: Akmola (15.4 billion tenge), Kostanay (14.9 billion tenge) and North Kazakhstan regions (14.5 billion tenge). And in the southern regions-Turkestan, Zhambyl and Zhetysu regions, in the regions where spring field work begins earlier, the amount of applications is only 10 billion tenge.
According to preliminary data of the regions, the readiness of agricultural machinery for spring field work in the Republic is currently about 56%. The need for seeds for the 2024 harvest is 2.3 million tons, of which 99% is prepared.
Following the meeting, Serik Zhumangarin instructed to revise the structure of arable land, in particular, to reduce the area of wheat sowing, increase oilseeds and other high-efficiency crops. He also noted the need to maximize the sowing areas of elite seeds of Kazakhstani selection, which showed the highest results in the 2024 harvest.
Next Wednesday, Serik Zhumangarin plans to visit one of the southern regions to get acquainted with the preparations for spring field work and discuss the development of the real sector of the economy. Earlier it was reported that on December 30, 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of national economy visited the Karaganda region and announced that the work of the department will be integrated with work in the regions.
