In Astana, public utilities work around the clock without interruptions, clearing the streets of snow and ice day and night. Road workers removed more than 34,000 cubic meters of snow from the city overnight, the official website of the Mayor's office of the capital reports.
On January 8, 2,600 road workers and more than 1,600 pieces of special equipment went on the day shift to clean the streets of the city. Their forces removed 34,713 cubic meters of snow from the city.
Since the beginning of the winter season, 2,533,794 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the capital on 194,723 flights.
First of all, according to the rules, places with very heavy traffic are cleared to avoid traffic jams. Areas of moderate intensity are also being cleaned – squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
The cleaning of central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading vehicle license plates, video surveillance cameras and lighting.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and do not travel long distances if there is a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
