In 2025, the Astana Opera Theater will once again delight the audience with a rich program, including four premieres.
The year will open with the ballet premiere of Roland Petit. The program includes three outstanding one-act works by the legendary French choreographer: "Carmen", "Arlesian" and "The Youth and Death". These works, filled with drama and vivid expression, have long become iconic in world ballet.
An equally anticipated event will be the premiere of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet The Sleeping Beauty. This work, considered a symbol of classical ballet, will appear in a new interpretation by the artistic director of the ballet troupe, Altynai Asylmuratova, People's Artist of Russia. Magnificent costumes, magnificent scenery and unforgettable music will transport the audience into the wonderful world of a fairy tale.
Opera lovers will find two productions that are completely different in mood and style. One of them is Giuseppe Verdi's famous opera Rigoletto, a tragic love story. This work with an exciting plot and virtuoso arias continues to excite the hearts of viewers around the world.
A special place in the repertoire will be occupied by the opera "Appak, daughter of Kipchak" by Serikzhan and Alibi Abdinurov. The plot is based on the meeting of the great Azerbaijani poet, who entered the history of world literature under the name Nizami, and the 17-year-old Kipchak girl Appak.
Each of the productions will be the result of the enormous work of directors, choreographers, set designers, costume designers and, of course, the artists of the Astana Opera Theater.
