Public utilities continue to work around the clock in an enhanced mode. Tens of thousands of cubic meters of snow are exported from the city every day, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
On January 10, more than 2,600 road workers and over 1,700 pieces of special equipment were involved in the snow removal work in the city.
During the night from January 9 to January 10, about 50 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the city, which is over 3,600 flights of heavy trucks.
Since the beginning of the winter period, 2,740,222 cubic meters of snow and 209,896 heavy trucks have been transported from the capital.
First of all, areas with high traffic intensity are being cleared to prevent traffic congestion. Cleaning of station forecourts, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities and central streets, as well as public transport routes and stops is also a priority.
There are several snow-covered landfills in the city, equipped with a system for reading equipment numbers, video surveillance and lighting.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules and avoid long-distance trips if there is a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
