The grand opening of a sports and recreation complex, which will become an important facility for promoting health and sports development in the region, took place in the city of Stepnogorsk. The event was attended by Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov, as well as representatives of local authorities, the public and athletes.
According to the contractor, director of AN Groups LLP Darkhan Shotabayev, the new complex has an area of over 2,600 square meters. m consists of two blocks. The first one houses a multifunctional hall for playing sports such as volleyball and mini–football. In the second block there is a gym, facilities for fitness, physical education, wrestling and boxing. Special attention is paid to creating an accessible environment for people with special needs.
Opening the complex, Marat Akhmetzhanov stressed that the opening of the FOC is an important event for the region.
"We are creating all conditions for sports to become accessible to everyone, from children to the elderly. Such facilities are not only places for training, but also playgrounds that unite society, inspire young people and contribute to the formation of a healthy lifestyle. Stepnogorsk is famous for its sports traditions, and champions need to be raised here. I am sure that this complex will become the pride of the city and will serve people for many years to come," said the head of the region.
As part of the opening, demonstration performances of sports teams were held, as well as a tour of the complex. The FOK is already open to the public and is ready to receive residents of all ages. Weightlifters, boxers, wrestlers and a children's soccer team are already training here.
"I like the new gym, the football field is comfortable. Our team has already competed in Kokshetau, Astana and Karaganda. We want to become champions and we will train hard," said Maxim Atamas, captain of the Stepnogorsk football players.
By the way, the project was implemented as part of the regional program for the development of sports infrastructure. The new complex will become a venue for regional-level sporting events.
