The municipal services of the capital continue to work around the clock in an enhanced mode. During the night shift from January 10 to January 11, over 1,300 units of special equipment and more than 300 road workers are involved in snow removal, the official website of Astana Akimat reports.
During the day, more than 50,000 cubic meters of snow were removed, which is equivalent to 3,685 flights.
Since the beginning of the winter season, about 2.8 million cubic meters of snow have already been removed from the capital, which amounted to more than 213,558 flights.
The focus is on clearing roads with heavy traffic to minimize traffic jams and congestion. Station forecourts, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, as well as central streets and public transport routes are also being cleared as a matter of priority.
There are several snow training grounds in the capital, equipped with modern systems for reading equipment numbers, video surveillance and lighting. This allows snow removal operations to be carried out efficiently and safely.
Authorities are asking residents to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules and avoid long-distance travel with a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
