The Year of Working Professions: This year, 14 new specialties will be opened in colleges of the Zhetisu region.

As part of the initiative of the President of the country on the Year of Working Professions in colleges of the Zhetisu region, work continues to open new sought-after specialties. In particular, the Atlas of New Professions has been approved in the region, which, taking into account the requirements of the labor market and the development of the region's economy, focuses on 5 main areas, including agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, information and communication technologies, energy and renewable energy sources. If 13 new specialties were opened in 11 colleges of the region last academic year, 14 more will be opened this year, the press service of the akim of the region Zhetisu reports.
- A comprehensive action plan for the Year of Working Professions has been approved in the field of Housing and Communal Services, including measures and measures to update the content and improve the quality of technical and vocational education, as well as enhance the image of working professions. A "Regional atlas of new Professions" has also been developed, an analysis of 5 priority sectors of the region's economy has been carried out, new, transformable, disappearing and severely deficient professions have been identified. In order to ensure the training of qualified specialists in priority areas of economic sectors for the 2024-2025 academic year, 240 educational programs have been developed in the region. This academic year, 14 new sought-after specialties will be opened in 11 colleges in the region, including hydraulic reclamation, maintenance and repair of automated production systems, mechatronics, house master, design technician, forestry and fisheries, and greenhouse management. I would like to note that this year it is planned to allocate 488 million tenge from the local budget to strengthen the material and technical base of colleges," said Marat Suleimenov, head of the regional Department of Education.
New specialties are also being opened at Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College.:
- Our college currently has over 1,500 students in 11 majors. We have discovered new and sought-after specialties. Among them are an "Operator of unmanned aerial vehicles" and a BIM technician. These specialties are included in the "Regional Atlas of New Professions". This year we plan to open a new specialty "Mechatronics", which will allow us to train specialists in the field of 3D printing, electronics, and robotics. In this regard, we have agreements on cooperation with two IT companies," said Shyngys Nurgozhayev, director of Taldykorgan Higher Polytechnic College.
In total, there are 27 colleges in the Zhetisu region, 21 of them are public and 6 are private. The total number of students this academic year is 13,901, of whom 10,155 study under the state social order, that is, free of charge. Most of the government orders are aimed at technical specialties: IT, construction, engineering, agriculture and water management. In general, educational institutions train personnel in 70 specialties and 113 qualifications in the following areas: agriculture, service sector, construction, mechanical engineering, as well as technical, pedagogical, legal, economic, and medical fields.
