The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports on the investigation of criminal cases related to fires, including those that negligently caused the death of a person or other serious consequences.
The bodies of the state fire service carry out fire prevention and extinguishing, emergency rescue and emergency work, state control and supervision in the field of fire safety and conduct inquiries in cases of criminal offenses related to fires.
Compliance with fire safety requirements at the facility must be ensured by owners, heads of organizations, enterprises, regardless of their forms of ownership, individual entrepreneurs, individuals, and persons who have the right to own, use, and dispose of the facility or premises.
In 2024, the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations sent criminal cases to the court, in which sentences were passed against the perpetrators.:
The verdict of the Ural City Court: The individual entrepreneur was found guilty of violating fire safety requirements, resulting in the death of people and sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 5 years under art. 292 part 3 of the Criminal Code.
Verdict of the Inter-district Court of Astana: A resident of the capital, found guilty of violating fire safety requirements, resulting in the death of citizens and sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Verdict of the Inter-district Court of Shymkent: A man sentenced to 3 years of restriction of liberty for violating safety standards, resulting in the death of a person.
The verdict of the Munailinsky district Court of the Mangystau region: The court found a resident of the eponymous region guilty of negligent destruction of other people's property and sentenced him to 1 year of restriction of freedom.
Verdict of the Inter-district Court of Astana city: Another case of careless destruction of other people's property led to a punishment of 1 year of restriction of freedom of a resident of Astana.
The verdict of the Temirtau city Court of the Karaganda region: The perpetrator of the destruction of other people's property was sentenced to 1 year of restriction of freedom.
The verdict of the Kazybekbiysky district court of the city of Karaganda: Similarly, a resident of Karaganda was sentenced to 1 year of restriction of freedom for the destruction of other people's property.
Verdict of the Kyzylorda city Court No. 2: The perpetrator of the reckless destruction of other people's property was sentenced to 1 year of restriction of freedom.
The Ministry continues to strengthen its efforts to prevent emergencies in order to minimize risks to human life and health.
