The head of the region, Yermek Kosherbayev, held a meeting on environmental issues, where the work of the environmental bureau "Oskemen Tynysy" was officially launched. Its head, Elena Berezinskaya-Abilova, presented a work plan. It should be noted that environmentalists are interested in actively involving the population in project activities. They are ready to support the initiatives of entrepreneurs and the public to reduce air pollution.
- There are investors who are ready to provide financial and legal support to projects within the framework of "green financing". We are ready to consider proposals from proactive citizens to improve the environment and monitoring. Our main task is to minimize any risks, whether economic or corruption," said Yelena Berezinskaya-Abilova.
One of the main tasks facing today is to conduct a comprehensive study of the environmental situation in Ust-Kamenogorsk and compile a common database that will contain all information not only on emissions from enterprises, but also on public transport, the private sector, the seasonality of NMR, and air quality measurement posts.
- It's great that the bureau includes practicing environmentalists, we need to establish close cooperation with civil society, this will help in solving many issues. In turn, the creation of a common database will enable the most accurate and correct assessment of the situation and will allow us to develop a clear algorithm for further actions," said Akim of the region Ermek Kosherbayev.
The head of the region also said that during the construction of sanitary facilities on regional highways, the possibility of installing charging stations for electric vehicles will be considered. Since such modernization and development of environmentally friendly modes of transport is one of the most important tasks set by the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
A separate block of questions concerned the landscaping of Ust-Kamenogorsk, and here the governor of the region emphasized that responsible specialists should be involved in this issue, who understand what, where and at what time should be planted so that the plants do not die.
