By Presidential decree, for exemplary performance of official duties, bravery and heroism shown in the performance of official duty and saving lives, the "Erligi ushin" medal was awarded to the driver-employee of fire trucks of the fire department No. 17 of the Osakarovsky district Emergency Department of the Karaganda region, Symbat Eschanov.
Senior Sergeant of Civil Protection Symbat Eschanov has been serving in the civil protection authorities since 2012. Over the years of his service, he has repeatedly participated in emergency response, as well as rescue and evacuation operations.
One of the most striking examples of heroism was the incident on January 3, 2025, when a bus traveling on the Nura-Karaganda route got stuck in a snow drift on the Almaty-Yekaterinburg highway of national significance. A group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which included Symbat Eschanov, immediately went to the place of the call.
After rescuers arrived at the scene, they assessed the situation and began evacuating more than 30 passengers, including 5 children. However, due to the deteriorating weather conditions and zero visibility, Symbat Eschanov decided to walk in front of the vehicle, showing the way to rescuers and providing a safe escort.
Thanks to the courage and dedication of the rescuer, all passengers were safely transported to evacuation centers, where they received the necessary assistance. By this act, he not only saved people's lives, but also demonstrated his high professionalism and dedication to his work.
Symbat Eschanov continues to serve in the civil protection agencies, being an example of courage and dedication for his colleagues and the whole society.
