The company is implementing a project to build a 1 GW wind farm with an energy storage system in the region.
Masdar project manager Yernur Zhienbayev reported on the interim results.
The preliminary cost of the project is 742 billion rubles. tenge. Currently, geotechnical works are being carried out on the territory of the wind power plant. The construction of a large renewable energy facility is planned to begin in 2026.
Ye. Zhienbayev also noted the company's plans to expand its scale and implement investment projects in the field of "green" energy in Zhambyl region.
The governor of the region expressed confidence that the wind farm will make a significant contribution to ensuring the country's energy security.
During a conversation with representatives of the company, Yerbol Karashukeyev stressed the need to conduct a preliminary analysis of the need for personnel and establish cooperation with local universities in order to train specialists from among the population of the region.
Thanks to the favorable investment climate and state support, the renewable energy sector is developing at a very high pace in the region. Currently, there are 22 renewable energy facilities with a total capacity of 571.3 MW.
