The XXI International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science starts in Kazakhstan

From January 13 to 17, for the first time, Astana will host the XXI International Zhautyk Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science IZhO – 2025, organized by the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics and the Daryn Scientific Research Center of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It will be attended by about 700 schoolchildren and 150 leaders from 15 countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Mongolia. The composition of the teams is determined based on the results of national subject Olympiads.
The Olympiad will last five days and consists of two rounds. The tasks correspond in complexity to the program of specialized classes and are compiled by an international jury. The chairman of the jury will be the famous Kazakh mathematician, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumadildaev.
"The International Zhautykov Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science is being held in the country for the 21st time. This year it will be held in Astana for the first time. The participants will demonstrate their skills in theoretical and practical tours in the classrooms of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics and Astana IT University, the technical equipment of which fully complies with the conditions of this Olympiad," said Gajdembek Tursunov, Director of the Russian National Research Center "Daryn".
Following the results of the Zhautykov Olympiad, participants will receive certificates of participation and memorable gifts, and winners and prize–winners will receive diplomas of various degrees, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals.
The International Zhautyk Olympiad has been held since 2005 under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The goal is to promote the physical and mathematical sciences among students, develop international cooperation, establish friendly relations between specialized schools in different countries, exchange experiences, and demonstrate the level of education and culture in Kazakhstan.
