The Ministry of Education is creating conditions for free training in sought-after specialties for ninth grade graduates. This year, the coverage of students with free technical and vocational education in sought-after specialties will amount to 153 thousand, which is 10 thousand more than last year, the press service of the department reports.
70% of the state order will be directed to technical specialties, including mechanical engineering, transport, energy, IT, construction, etc.
"The main priority is to train competitive specialists, fully provide educational institutions with modern material and technical equipment, and improve the skills of teachers. Comprehensive work is currently underway to transform vocational education, including increasing the volume of government orders for personnel training, introducing the best international practices into educational programs, and holding professional skills championships. It is also planned to actively involve business structures and investors to develop a system of dual education and specialist training based on a targeted order from enterprises," said Asset Mukhanbetov, Director of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education.
Currently, 518 enterprises provide patronage over colleges, their number is planned to increase to 4 thousand. About 8 thousand educational programs have been developed jointly with employers, taking into account the requirements of professional standards, state educational standards and WorldSkills standards. This year, colleges and employers will develop more than 2,000 educational programs, and 2,000 teachers will be trained at the production facility.
