Social support and employment development in Astana remain among the priorities in the city's social policy. In 2024, social benefits and free services covered more than 193 thousand people. Among the recipients of support are over 138 thousand pensioners, more than 36 thousand people with disabilities, 34,248 large families, as well as 7,088 mothers with many children awarded with the badges "Altyn Alka" and "Kumis alka", the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
In 2024, 23.3 thousand people were covered by employment promotion measures, of which 13.7 thousand are young people. As part of the implementation of the Regional Job Creation Map, 67,634 jobs were created, of which 57,920 were permanent and 9,714 were temporary.
In 2024, 1,979 people with disabilities applied for help in finding a job. 1,085 people with disabilities were covered by employment measures, of which 293 were employed in permanent jobs, 21 completed youth internship, and 7 people got jobs in social work. In addition, 381 people were sent for community service, 49 — under the Silver Age program, and 18 people received grants for the development of entrepreneurial activities.
2025 has been declared the Year of Working Professions in Kazakhstan. This year, it is planned to organize vocational training for unemployed citizens in working professions, 210 people will participate, 3 city job fairs and 30 mini-fairs will be held.
Career guidance events will also be held with graduates of grades 9-11, covering 3,000 people. An important part of the events will be the holding of a Labor forum and competitions, such as "Enbek Zholy" and "Paryz", as well as sports and cultural events.
