Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Nysanbayev spoke at the high-level dialogue "Financing Land Restoration", which was held within the framework of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification.
In his address, the Minister noted that Kazakhstan, having significant land resources, attaches special importance to mobilizing financial resources to combat land degradation and climate change.
"Today I would like to share our experience, achievements and plans in this area. Kazakhstan is actively implementing projects aimed at restoring degraded lands, introducing sustainable resource management methods and adapting to climate change. We are also ready to support international initiatives that contribute to the achievement of global environmental goals," E. Nysanbayev stressed.
The Minister emphasized the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experience for achieving sustainable development. Kazakhstan continues to actively participate in global and regional initiatives aimed at preventing land degradation and improving the environmental situation.
The event was also attended by Murat Temirzhanov, National Coordinator of the Convention to Combat Desertification of the UNCCD, Chairman of the Committee on Land Management of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who presented Kazakhstan's contribution to global land restoration efforts and stressed the importance of improving approaches to natural resource management.
