The acceptance of applications for participation in the republican contest "Ulttyk Kitap" has started.
The competition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information, is held on the eve of National Book Day.
The main purpose of the contest is to provide a reading culture, promote the development of Kazakh literature and spirituality, identify the best book authors, support and stimulate translators, publishers and book designers.
The competition will be held in 10 nominations.:
1) The best book for children
2) The best comic book
3) The best non-fiction book
4) The best book in the detective genre
5) The best book in the genre of satire
6) The best illustrated book
7) The best translated book
8) The best book in the genre of fiction
9) The best publishing house
10) Grand Prix "Book of the Year"
Works published during the last 2 years are accepted for participation in the competition. Works submitted after the deadline are not registered.
Applications are accepted from January 15 to April 1, 2025.

Recall that on the initiative of the Head of State, a new holiday was established - "National Book Day", which will be celebrated on April 23.
