The issue of the development of the e-commerce market was considered at a staff meeting chaired by the akim of the region. During the discussion of the issue, Askhat Shakharov noted the need to use e-commerce as an additional channel for promoting domestic products on the world market.
According to Almas Salykbayev, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, over 36,000 SMEs work in the field of trade in the region. Of these, 4,726 business entities are engaged in online retail sales.
Entrepreneurs actively use various platforms such as online shopping and social media to expand their business. Many travel agencies and hotels also offer their services through online platforms. Residents can order necessary goods at affordable prices and in a wide range through marketplaces.
The most popular online stores and marketplaces among the population are Kaspi, Wildberries, Ozon and others.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of e-commerce (including marketplaces) in the total retail trade in 2023 was 12.7%. By the end of 2023, the volume of e-commerce in Aktobe region reached 7.9 billion tenge (6th place in Kazakhstan). According to forecasts, in 2024 this figure will amount to 9.0 billion tenge. The total number of retail orders via online resources amounted to 215,896 units.
The Ministry of Trade and Integration, together with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, launched e-commerce training courses based on the proposals of domestic marketplaces. Last year, 9 training seminars were held, 7 of them in online format.
As noted by Dinara Khasangaliyeva, Director of the AOF of Kazpost JSC, Kazpost promotes the development of electronic commerce as an infrastructure platform, providing public access to goods throughout Kazakhstan.
"We are developing the company's ecosystem, and Keden and Keruen services have become one of the key services for developing business partnerships. Today, customers who have ordered goods on the global electronic platforms of the USA, Germany, China, South Korea, can receive their purchases to the specified address in Kazakhstan. There are plans to improve the Qazpost Keruen service and connect countries such as the United Kingdom, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates," said Dinara Khasangalieva.
The Governor of the region instructed to accelerate the digitalization of processes in the field of trade and the introduction of advanced IT solutions, pay special attention to the development of domestic online stores. This requires ensuring the stable functioning of payment systems, improving the transport and logistics infrastructure and improving the efficiency of courier services.
