Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev visited the State Philharmonic named after Amre Kashaubayev in Semey and got acquainted with the current activities of the creative team. The Philharmonic Society with an 80-year history has been located in the building of the former Yenlik-Kebek cinema since 2020. However, the company that operated the cinema on trust management rights until 2019 has not carried out repairs.
Since the transfer of the building to the Philharmonic, ongoing repairs of the roof, the small hall and the water supply system have been carried out. In addition, the long-standing problem with starting the heating system has been solved. The building has a large hall with 259 seats and a small hall with 180 seats.
After examining the building inside and out, the head of the region listened to the suggestions of the director of the Philharmonic. The director of the institution noted the need to create individual halls for rehearsals of artists.
"This is one of the historical buildings of our city with a unique architectural style. We must modernize it, preserving its original appearance, so that it meets the expectations of the public. It is also necessary to improve the area around the building. The issue of building a new building on the territory of the institution should be worked out in detail," the governor of the region emphasized.
The head of the region gave specific instructions to the responsible persons on these issues.
