At the initiative of the Astana Akimat, the amount of payments to WWII veterans for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War has been increased 2.5 times. Thus, the capital's WWII veterans will receive 5 million tenge each. Today, 6 veterans live in the capital.
In addition, payments will also be received by veterans who are equivalent in benefits to veterans of the Great Patriotic War (except for participants and invalids of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant) (military personnel who served during the Second World War, persons who took part in hostilities against Nazi Germany, citizens who worked during the siege in the city of Leningrad, minor prisoners of concentration camps, military personnel, persons with disabilities as a result of injury, persons whose disability was established as a result of a disaster at radiation disasters and accidents at civilian or military facilities, nuclear tests, and their children, whose disability is genetically related to radiation exposure of one of the parents) – in the amount of 45 MCI (176,940 tenge).
Veterans of military operations on the territory of other states (except for veterans of military operations in Afghanistan) (military personnel who performed tasks in the Tajik-Afghan sector, in the international peacekeeping operation in Iraq, in the settlement of the interethnic conflict in Nagorno–Karabakh) - 45 MCI (176,940 tenge).
Other persons covered by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Veterans" (home front workers, families of deceased servicemen, spouse of a deceased disabled person of the Second World War – in the amount of 15 MCI (58,980 tenge).
