On January 16, a solemn ceremony of awarding state scholarships to literary and artistic figures living in Almaty was held in Almaty with the participation of the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva.
In accordance with the decree of the Head of State, 75 people became their owners in 2024.
Aida Balayeva congratulated the Almaty fellows and noted their significant contribution to the development of Kazakh culture. The creative intelligentsia, the Minister stressed, plays a key role in preserving cultural identity, strengthening unity and promoting national values.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to strengthening the national spirit, emphasizing its enormous role and potential in building modern statehood. His annual messages to the people, initiatives at the National Kurultai and interviews are full of key values such as Independence and Patriotism, Unity and Harmony, Justice and Responsibility, Law and Order, Creativity and Innovation. Strengthening interethnic harmony and instilling decent values to the younger generation is our common task," the minister said.
Aida Balayeva noted that all the President's initiatives are primarily aimed at forming national unity, strengthening the state and improving the well-being of citizens.
"You, the master of culture, have a great responsibility in raising the status of statehood. And we have no doubt that cultural figures have been and remain a reliable support for the Head of State, a guide to his ideas. The state, in turn, will continue to provide systematic support to artists," the minister concluded.
The scholarship holders included such prominent cultural figures as Asanali Ashimov, Bibigul Tulegenova, Olzhas Suleimenov, Iranbek Orazbayev, Nurgali Nusipzhan, Tungishbai Jamankulov, Meruert Utekeshova, Amandos Akanaev, Dulat Isabekov, Tolen Abdikuly, Tatiana Tarskaya, Gulver Razieva and many others.
