On behalf of the Head of State, the construction of the first national school "ABAI ULTTYQ MEKTEBI" has begun in Almaty, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The new educational institution will be based on the philosophy of the great Kazakh thinker and include the idea of "five values". The educational process at this school will be focused on in-depth study of the Kazakh language and literature. For this purpose, the potential of the current Abai boarding school in Almaty will be fully utilized.
"The modernization of the republican specialized boarding school for gifted children named after Abai will give a new impetus to the further development of national education and the strengthening of spiritual and moral values among the younger generation. "ABAI ULTTYQ MEKTEBI" is designed to become an education center for competitive youth in the modern educational space. It will contribute to the formation of a new generation of patriots in accordance with the concept of the Head of State "Adal Azamat" and the philosophy of Abai "Tolyk Adam", the education of the Kazakh elite of public administration. Currently, the development of a unified program "ABAY-Program" has begun, focusing on the in–depth study of the Kazakh language and several foreign languages," said Kanybek Zhumashev, Chairman of the Secondary Education Committee of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The construction of the new school began in November last year. The facility is designed for 900 student places. Its infrastructure includes a boarding school, a teacher's house, a library, a sports complex, a greenhouse and other facilities. The facility is expected to be operational by 2026.
