Heavy snowfall has been observed in Astana since morning. Municipal services of the city are carrying out snow removal operations around the clock, the official website of the Mayor's Office of the capital reports.
On January 17, 2,652 road workers and more than 1,470 pieces of special equipment went out for snow removal work.
Over the past night, from January 16 to January 17, more than 24 thousand cubic meters of snow were transported from the capital on 1,926 flights to snow ranges.
Since the beginning of the winter period, almost 3.3 million cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city on 260 145 heavy-duty flights.
First of all, according to the rules, places with very heavy traffic are cleared to avoid traffic jams. Areas of moderate intensity are also being cleaned – squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
The cleaning of central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading vehicle license plates, video surveillance cameras and lighting.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and do not travel long distances if there is a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, please call 112.
