Special attention was paid to rental apartments for socially vulnerable segments of the population — 1,070 apartments with a total area of 79.5 thousand square meters were purchased for them. In 2024, 848 people on the waiting list will be provided with housing. Among them, 155 orphans, 307 socially vulnerable segments of the population, 225 large families, 91 civil servants, employees of budget organizations, and 70 citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan whose only home is recognized as an emergency.
"This year, the region also plans to continue active construction of loan housing. Both apartment buildings and private ones will be built. Already, 14 new houses are being built in Semey and Ayagoz, with a total area of 54.6 thousand square meters. meters. In the near future, work will begin on the construction of 6 more high-rise buildings. This will enable many families to purchase their own housing on favorable terms," said Dimitri Garikov, Deputy akim of the Abai region.
To date, 19,850 people have been registered in the housing waiting list in the region, which is 365 more than a year earlier.

One of the key measures in providing affordable housing remains the implementation of programs through Otbasy Bank JSC. At the moment, three main programs are offered: Nauryz with a loan term of up to 19 years, Otau with a remuneration rate of up to 9% per annum, as well as a program within the framework of the Housing and Communal Services Development Concept for 2023-2029 with a rate of 2% for SUSN and 5% for the rest of the waiting list. Overall, over the past year, more than 1,695 clients have registered their moves to new apartments and houses using various mortgage programs.
"The regional program "Abai Zhastary" deserves special attention, which is being implemented jointly by the akimat of Semey and Otbasy Bank. The main goal of this initiative is to support qualified personnel by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own housing, which will avoid the need to pay rent. As part of the program, 19 families from among the working youth of the region will be provided with housing in 2024. The youth program "Kozy Kurpesh-Bayan sulu" also operates in Ayagoz district, the deputy akim added.
Work on providing housing for all categories of citizens will continue in 2025.
