Small and medium-sized businesses are developing in the Kokpekty district

Small and medium-sized businesses play a key role in the economy of the Kokpekta district, making a significant contribution to the development of the region. To date, 1,280 small and medium-sized businesses have been registered in the district.
Of the total number of SMEs, 6.2% (79 units) are legal entities, 39.2% (502 units) are individual entrepreneurs, and 54.6% (699 units) are peasant farms. 2,900 people are employed in the small business sector.
"The population of the district is provided with services by 20 catering enterprises, 125 shops, one shopping market, seven pharmacies, five bakeries, two gas stations, four hotels, nine hairdressers and two computer services. There are also five service stations, nine tire shops, two insurance agencies, passenger and freight transportation services, notary offices, veterinary clinics, clothing and shoe repair shops, as well as workshops for the production of furniture and plastic windows," said Serik Baisengirov, head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Agriculture.
Special attention is paid to the implementation of projects in the real sector of the economy. In 2024, two major innovative projects were launched in the district. One of them is the expansion of a dairy farm. The project includes increasing the farm's capacity by 1,000 heads with the installation of milking equipment for 18 places. Daily milk production will increase to 30 tons, and annual milk production will increase to 15,000 tons. 349 Simmental breeding heifers from Germany worth 476 million tenge were imported for the project. Eastern Gold LLP is implementing a project to build a Dore gold-silver alloy plant with the necessary infrastructure. The total cost of the project is 1,100 million tenge, and the production capacity of the enterprise is 200 thousand tons of ore per year.
The state program "Enbek" is an important tool for the development of entrepreneurship in the region. In 2024, six participants received grants totaling 8.8 million tenge under this program. Thus, 3 grants were given to low-income families, 2 grants were given to large families, and 1 grant was given to a person with a disability.
