As part of the National Pilot Project "Modernization of rural healthcare", 62 inpatient medical facilities in rural areas have been commissioned in the Abai region. Currently, the process of transferring them to the balance of medical organizations is underway. Two more facilities will be completed this year.
Within the framework of the Auyl – El Besigi program, a project is being implemented to build a 50-visit outpatient clinic with a 10-bed day hospital in the village of Urjar in Urjar district.
The head of the health department, Talgat Moldabekov, noted that active work is also being carried out in the direction of staffing shortage of rural medicine for specialists of a narrow profile. These include dentists, surgeons, obstetricians and gynecologists, etc.
"To solve the problem of personnel shortage, a one-time allocation of a lifting allowance in the amount of 8.5 million tenge is provided. We continue to work on determining the list of severely deficient specialties that will be covered by social support measures in 2025. Special attention is also paid to personnel training. At the expense of the local budget, 80 specialists from the region were trained abroad in 2024. Among them are 15 medical workers from regional centers who have interned in leading medical institutions in Russia, Germany and Azerbaijan. This program is aimed at professional development and the introduction of modern approaches in the work of rural medicine," said the head of the department.
To increase the availability of medical care to the rural population, 9 mobile medical complexes (MCS) are operating in the region, which have covered 173 settlements. In 2024, it was planned to cover 64,435 people, in fact, 56,233 residents received assistance.
One of the key areas of rural medicine development is the renovation of the material and technical base. In 2024, 200 units of medical equipment worth more than 1.3 billion tenge were purchased. In 2025, it is planned to purchase another 182 pieces of equipment worth 1.2 billion tenge.
