Yesterday was a significant day in the history of medicine in our region. Liver transplantation surgery was performed for the first time in our region. The liver transplant operation for a 40-year-old patient, an able-bodied person, was successfully completed at the regional multidisciplinary hospital. The donor was a relative of the patient, born in 1993. The patient had been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver for 9 years, and treatment had failed. For him, this operation was a long-awaited event.
The operation, which lasted 10 hours, was successful. At the moment, the patient has come to his senses, freed himself from dependence on treatment, from time and nutrition restrictions, and has been given the opportunity to work and lead an active lifestyle.
The transplant operation was performed by a team led by the Chairman of the Board of JSC NSCC named after A.N.Syzganov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, doctor of the highest category Bolatbek Bimendiuly Baymakhanov, who arrived in Kyzylorda specifically for this purpose.
It should be noted that the doctors of the regional multidisciplinary hospital assisted in the operation. Liver transplantation operations will be carried out in the future. To date, 16 people have undergone liver transplantation in the Kyzylorda region. Their health is assessed as "good" today.
Modern surgery successfully performs donor liver transplantation, which makes it possible to restore patients with chronic and complicated liver diseases and ensure their full medical and social recovery.
