It has been continuously snowing in Astana for several days now. Utilities are carrying out snow removal work around the clock, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
On the night of January 22, more than 300 road workers and more than 1,600 pieces of special equipment went out to clean up the snow.
During the day shift on January 21, almost 55,000 cubic meters of snow were transported by 4343 flights from the capital to the snow ranges.
Since the beginning of the winter season, 3 million 627 thousand 904 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city by 286,495 heavy cargo flights.
According to the rules, first of all, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in the city so that there is no congestion on the roads. Areas with moderate intensity are also being cleared of snow — squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning on central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the capital. They are equipped with a system for reading the license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is connected.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and refrain from long-distance travel in case of a storm warning.
