Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek spoke on his Instagram page about the construction of storm and sewage treatment plants, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
"Taking into account the active development of the capital, the construction of storm and sewage treatment plants is an urgent area. We are building a number of engineering infrastructure in the capital.
For example, we are building a sewage pumping station in the area of E 32 Street (Nur district). This facility will be one of the most productive stations in the city with a capacity of about 290 thousand m3/day. The launch of the facility will ensure reliable drainage of the left-bank part of the city, which minimizes the risks of flooding and overflow of domestic sewage collectors. We plan to complete this facility by the end of this year.
In addition, by the end of this year, we also plan to commission a sewage pumping station in the area of Abai Ave., which will allow decommissioning worn-out networks and structures built in the 80s. This station will also ensure the stable operation of the domestic sewage system in the right-bank part of the city.
We are also systematically developing the storm sewer system. We are solving point problems related to the operability of storm sewer networks and structures in certain areas of the city where there is an accumulation of runoff during the precipitation period.
This year, we will complete the reconstruction of storm water treatment facilities in the MKR area. Akbulak. As part of the project, the productivity of wastewater treatment plants will be increased to 21 thousand m3/day, pumping equipment will be replaced, and the rainwater treatment system will be put in proper condition. The implementation of this project will also minimize the risks of flooding of Momyshuly Ave. and others.
In 2024, 24 km of water supply networks, almost 11 km of household sewerage networks were built in the city, 8.1 km of water supply networks and 2.1 km of household sewerage networks were replaced and reconstructed. We have built 3 CNS and 7.3 km of main storm sewers," the mayor of the capital wrote.
