The head of the Astana Youth Policy Department, Samat Ibrayev, spoke at a briefing in the Communications Service about the department's work over the past year, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
According to the head of the department, over 13,000 young people were covered by employment promotion measures in 2024. In 2024, key youth employment promotion programs were implemented: "Youth Practice", "Community Service" and "First Workplace".
And in the summer, 4,200 people were employed within the framework of the Zhasyl El project, who actively participated in the improvement of the city.
At the same time, within the framework of the Joltap project, more than 3,773 people have mastered such digital specialties as SMM, targeting, graphic design and video editing. Also, more than 3,904 people were trained in working specialties: seamstress, barista, salesman, cashier and accounting basics.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the proportion of NEET youth in Astana is 6.1% or 26,447 people. The projects "Zhas Zhiger" and "Uzdik" are being implemented for the socialization of young people.
"Since the beginning of 2024, clean-up days and raids have been organized as part of the Taza Kazakhstan campaign. Initiatives to combat bad habits have also been implemented, including a large-scale campaign to burn fat and the "Trade Addiction for Sports" campaign. In addition, advertising labels about narcotic substances were painted over. As part of environmental events, young people actively participate in the actions "Taza duysenbi", "Satti sarsenbi", "Zhasyl Astana", aimed at greening and cleaning the city.
In 2024, work on the prevention of gambling addiction has significantly increased. Several meetings with college students were held with the participation of psychiatrists and narcologists, and more than 500 information booklets and leaflets were distributed.
As part of the "Volunteer School" in 2024, volunteers actively participated in international events, including the SCO Summit (200 volunteers) and the World Nomad Games (1,600 volunteers)," the head of the department said.
Samat Ibrayev also spoke about the Zhas Sarbaz project, which hosts events to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism. Classes and clubs "Zhas sarbaz" have been created in 110 schools and 35 colleges, where more than 10,000 people study.
"To strengthen the institution of the family, the Otbasy – bakyt Mekeni project is being implemented, which includes master classes in cooking, pottery, sports relay races and creative contests. To unleash the creative potential of young people, the festivals "Zhastar Zhalyny", "Zhastar Fest" and "Zhana Beles" were held. In order to support young people in Astana, a favorable environment is being created through various projects and initiatives for their development and self-realization," Samat Ibrayev summed up.
