Kirill Bauer, representing Kazakhstan in biathlon, became the bronze medalist of the Universiade 2025, held in Turin, Italy, Sport+ reports.
The athlete took third place in the mass start at a distance of 15 kilometers, losing only to Frenchman Nathanael Pecken and Swede Carl Greenland. Bauer finished the race with a score of 43:26.9, having made four mistakes, and his gap from the winner was 33.8 seconds.
The award became Kazakhstan's 12th medal at the 2025 Universiade, including three gold, four silver and five bronze medals.

The 2025 Winter Universiade takes place from January 13 to 23 in Turin. More than 1,400 athletes from 43 national student sports federations are participating, competing in 11 sports.
At the moment, Kazakhstan is in the top 10 of the 2025 Universiade medal standings, confirming the high level of athletes' training.
