Competitions for the Cup of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan among young men born in 2008-2009 studying at specialized boarding schools and colleges for gifted children in the field of sports were held in Taraz.

In the Taraz Arena sports complex named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov, pupils of specialized boarding schools and colleges from all over the country competed for the title of the best in judo, taekwondo, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling.
In the team competition, 18 teams representing the regions of the republic competed for the rolling Cup of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
