Last year, 73.9 thousand jobs were created in Almaty. It is important to note that 61.5 thousand of them are permanent.
The most important priority in the work of the Akimat of the city is to improve the well-being of Almaty residents. For 9 months of last year, taking into account current inflation, the average monthly salary in Almaty increased by 6.1% in real terms and amounted to 470 thousand tenge.
Last year, 73.9 thousand jobs were created. 83.2% of the jobs created are permanent. As a result, the unemployment rate in Almaty dropped to 4.6% in the third quarter of 2024.
Manufacturing is a key factor in diversifying the urban economy. 67 projects worth 485 billion tenge are being implemented in the Industrial Zone of Almaty, where 11.6 thousand jobs have been created. In 2025, it is planned to launch 15 projects worth 197 billion tenge with the creation of 2.7 thousand jobs. 13 projects worth 31 billion tenge are being implemented in the PIT FEZ with the creation of 220 jobs. This year, 5 projects worth 10 billion tenge are expected to be commissioned, which will provide 361 jobs.
Annual inflation is projected to slow down to 7.5% in the megacity in 2025.
