A joint Kazakh-Russian Working Group on cooperation in flood control has been established. The composition, regulations and work plan for 2025 have been approved.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has agreed with Kyrgyzstan to increase water supply along the Talas River. This was done in order to distribute water discharges from the Kirov reservoir and avoid flooding during the flood period.
